In this masterclass we will work collaboratively to examine how you can introduce an ALURE for your students. ALURE replaces the regular lab, workshop, or discussion sessions in your class with a research project. This might seem daunting, but with the right design you can accommodate hundreds of students in an ALURE. Come along to the session, and explore your options.

Outcome: At the end of this masterclass you will be able to:

  • define a group of students you work with who would benefit from an ALURE;
  • clearly articulate a research question that will be of interest to your students;
  • be able to move forward in planning an ALURE implementation.

Presenter: Associate Professor Susan Rowland completed a BSc Hons and PhD at the University of Sydney, Australia, and a Human Frontiers in Science Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Connecticut, USA.
