The OLT commissions strategic priority projects in response to key issues in the Australian higher education sector. Strategic priority commissioned grants are expected to achieve substantial impact as a stand-alone project as well as within their cluster of funded projects under a specific priority area.

The strategic priority commissioned grants are specifically intended to achieve the following:

  1. to promote and support strategic change in higher education institutions for the enhancement of learning and teaching and the benefit of the student experience
  2. to address particular issues/topics and respond to Government priorities, as determined by the expert panel
  3. to develop effective mechanisms for the identification, development, dissemination and embedding of good individual and institutional practice, including addressing particular contextual barriers to taking on the good practice identified.
