Tutors and sessional academic staff play a vital role in teaching and learning. As of 2010, the University has adopted an institutional approach to ensuring all new tutors and sessional academic staff receive high quality teaching and learning training.
New to tutoring: Tutors@UQ
The Tutors@UQ program offers five hours of paid training for new tutors and sessional academic staff. New tutors and sessional academic staff are encouraged to contact their school tutor coordinators to discuss Tutors@UQ.
Experienced in tutoring: ITaLI professional learning opportunities
All tutors and sessional academic staff are eligible to enrol in any teaching and learning staff development workshop and the various ITaLI activities related to enhancing teaching and learning.
Evaluation of tutoring
All tutors should evaluate their effectiveness. ITaLI supports a range of formal and informal evaluation opportunities; see the Student Evaluations section for more information.
