Carrie began her career in higher education coordinating and providing academic advising and recruitment for the College of Arts and Humanities at Minnesota State University, Mankato. She has also taught academic writing and literature for universities in the US face-to-face, in blended/hybrid mode and online.

Since 2014, she has been working as a Learning Designer for the UQx project, developing MOOCs and SPOCs. Carrie has a Master of Arts degree in English. Her thesis is entitled Disempowerment and Female Autonomy in Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale. She has also written 12 children’s books.
