Inspera implementation conversations

School-based conversations ensure that assessment undertaken in Inspera is managed by schools to best suite disciplinary context, staffing arrangements and priorities.

What are the resulting outcomes from conversations?

The outcomes of an implementation conversation should be that:

  • all processes, practices and timelines across the assessment lifecycle have been considered
  • practices that must or could change are identified
  • new practices (or revised existing ones) with clear roles and responsibilities are documented
  • any risks have been discussed
  • staff know their Inspera user role and any training or support they need.

Who can help our school facilitate this conversation?

ITaLI’s Digital Assessment team have so far facilitated 'implementation conversations' in multiple schools across UQ and can partner with your School to provide expertise, guidance and implementation support.

In our experience, helping all staff feel supported with every aspect of assessment can lead to further productive outcomes and explores possibilities for more efficient assessment practices and processes.

The work of assessment is deadline driven and can be high-stakes. Having a planned approach can prevent problems, ensure deadlines can be met with minimal stress and potentially result in new practices that could benefit all.

Can individual course coordinators still choose to use Inspera?

The recommendation for a conversation with all stakeholders in assessment does not preclude individual Course Coordinators from using Inspera and is not meant to delay use of the platform by individual Course Coordinators. Where there are ‘individual’ users in a School, it is still recommended that you contact the Digital Assessment team as early as possible so that you can benefit from a short conversation about what may need to be considered when using Inspera.
