Governance
The Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI) is located within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) portfolio.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Teaching and Learning) are responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of teaching and learning and the associated organisational units:
- Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation (ITaLI)
- Library
- Academic Services Division
- Student Affairs.
Academic governance
A number of formal committees and sub-committees contribute to the governance of teaching and learning at UQ. The Academic Board is the senior advisory body.
The Teaching and Learning Committee comprises:
- Assessment Sub-Committee
- Digital Learning Sub-Committee
- Forums and Communities of Teaching and Learning Committee
- Learning Space Sub-Committee.
These structures work together to plan, implement and advise on teaching and learning strategic priorities.
Teaching and Learning Plan
Our Teaching and Learning Plan 2018–2021 aligns with UQ Strategic Plan 2022–2025 and signals the goals, strategies and actions guiding our collective commitment to helping students during their studies and preparing them to be game-changing graduates.

ITaLI’s governance
ITaLI is governed by an Advisory Committee and comprises the following teams:
