We live in times of big data, where computational skills unlock and redefine careers across many fields where they have traditionally not been expected. This community provides a forum to discuss practice of embedding and instilling computational thinking in scientific disciplines where students come motivated but less prepared for technical and mathematical content. The community will seek to bring together academics from all of science and other data-pervasive fields but has its roots in an advisory group for bioinformatics at UQ.
