In this course, participants will be guided through the process of creating a Turnitin assignment, the student assignment submission process and setting up rubrics. Marking assignments online.

This workshop will be delivered via Zoom. It is recommended that you have two screens so you can follow the instructions and complete the workshop activities demonstrated. 

Participants will develop an understanding of the text matching (plagiarism detection) function available in Turnitin, how it can be used as both a formative and summative tool and the basics of interpreting Similarity reports.

Note, the Learn.UQ Assignment tool should be considered for the submission of group assignments.

Outcomes:

  • create a Turnitin assignment submission link/point
  • create rubrics in Turnitin
  • view Grade Centre (how Turnitin links to Grade Centre)
  • view and interpret the Similarity Report
  • view and interpret the AI indicator
  • mark sample submissions in Turnitin.
