About Learning Design Community and eLearning Operational Forum

Presented by ITaLI Teaching and Learning Manager Dom McGrath.

The Learning Design Community meets from 10–11am and supports and enhances technology-enhanced learning through collaboration and communication across the University and provides a forum to discuss opportunities.

The community often invites guests to share in discussions with the community.

Elearning Update proceeds the ITaLI Elearning team meeting from 11-12pm. Presentations cover the latest news on UQ teaching technologies and how they are being used by UQ teaching staff.

A forum related to Learning Design is Elearning Operational Forum (ELOF) . ELOF is responsible for coordinating work between elearning service units including ITaLI, Library, ITS and the faculties. Each faculty has one representative on ELOF assigned by the Associate Dean Academic.

UQ community members are welcome to enrol and attend either or both of these meetings.

Composition

  • Faculty and School Learning Designers, Educational Designers, and eLearning Coordinators
  • ITaLI Learning Designers
  • eLearning Professionals
  • Any other staff member with an interest/involvement in eLearning and learning design.

This CoP enables participants to: 

1. identify opportunities to address the effective pedagogical application of technologies to support faculty and
institutional teaching and learning related to faculty priorities
2. support communication about such activities between community members
3. support the sharing of pedagogical practice and resources between community members, and wider dissemination across the University
4. identify common or recurring issues and opportunities
5. provide professional development for participants.
