A/Professor Rachel Fitzgerald (SFHEA) is the Deputy Associate Dean (Academic) for the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law. Rachel specialises in education innovation and technology-enhanced learning in contemporary higher education. Her expertise extends globally, where she has spearheaded transformative teaching and learning initiatives and shaped curriculum and digital learning frameworks across various institutions in the UK, Ireland, and Australia. Her contributions to the field encompass research interests in micro-credentials, workplace learning, and the scholarship of teaching and learning (with AI). 

Rachel is currently leading professional networks for the Teaching Focused Community at UQ and the Australian Education Focused Academic Community. With recognition for her expertise in educational technology, Rachel serves as the Senior Editor for the Journal of University Teaching and Learning Practice (JUTLP) and as Associate Editor for the Australasian Journal of Education Technology (AJET).
