Macarlya (Carlie) Waters
Yaama UQ folks,
Macarlya (Carlie) Waters is a proud Kamilaroi/Gomeroi and Yuwaalaraay/Euahlayi First Nations women hailing from South-West Queensland. She has worked closely with First Nations students to support their academic journeys at university through developing improved pathways to success and enhancing student education and wellbeing practices.
She recently joined ITaLI and is looking forward to yarning with faculties, community and staff in undertaking the inclusion of Indigenous perspectives, methodologies and narratives into UQ curriculum. Carlie has completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts and First Nations Studies, Secondary Education Studies (Specialism; Ancient and Modern History), Grad Cert in Digital Design and Honours Degree in Contemporary Australian Indigenous Arts.
