Alongside Tim's appointment as an Honorary Fellow at the University of Queensland, he is currently exploring a range of innovative impact investing strategies.

Tim was previously a Research Fellow, Social Finance, at the Centre for Social Impact (CSI). He was a Project Manager and Researcher for a number of highly significant social impact projects. The projects included but were not limited to: the development of Seedkit an online data and evaluation platform for social enterprises; the evaluation of the costs of impact for jobs-focused social enterprises; the synthesis of domestic and international literature and CSI research related to outcome funds; and the development and implementation of a framework that holistically evaluated the implementation and outcomes of the Australian Department of Social Services Payment by Outcomes Trial 3.

Tim was a Manager in the Impact Investing team at Social Ventures Australia (SVA). He managed investments across SVA’s $15m Diversified Impact Fund and $91m Social Impact Investment Trust (HESTA-funded). He gained exposure to debt, equity and hybrid investments across a range of sectors including: age care; specialist disability accommodation; social and affordable housing; mental health and wellbeing services; and disability support services.

Tim was an Executive in the founding years of Catapult Partners, an independent corporate advisory and proprietary investment firm. He gained broad listed and unlisted market experience across equity raisings, debt raisings, investments and divestments.

Tim holds a finance PhD from the University of Queensland. He utilised quantitative and qualitative research methods to assess social impact bonds and venture capital impact investments. He presented his research at domestic and international conferences; consulted to industry; and attended the Oxford Impact Investing Programme. He also hold a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours, Class 1) and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland.
