Katelyn Barney is a non-Indigenous teaching and research academic based within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit and also affiliated with the School of Music at the University of Queensland.

Strong long-term relationships and partnerships with Indigenous people is at the centre of her work. Katelyn co-leads a podcast series on teaching called Indigenising Curriculum in Practice with Professor Tracey Bunda and is also the Managing Editor of The Australian Journal of Indigenous Education.  

Katelyn is known for her leadership in two additional areas: improving pathways for Indigenous students into and through higher education, and advancing understandings about the role of collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
