Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming how students participate in their studies and how educators design learning and assessment. But what does this mean for accessibility, particularly for students with disabilities?

This session brings together students and staff to explore this critical question, highlighting work already underway at UQ, including:

    • Research insights from students: Findings from a recent survey of 606 UQ students with disabilities exploring their experiences and views on AI.
    • Policy and practice: The launch of a consultation on proposed Guiding Principles to Support Students with Disabilities in the context of secure assessment and the Lead Through Learning initiative.
    • Update on Lead through Learning: UQ’s PVC-ESE, Professor Suzanne Le Mire, will provide an update on the progress of the two Lead through Learning goals -preparing students and learning integrity.

    Facilitated by:

    • Professor Suzanne Le Mire, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience)
    • Locky Kaye (Student Support and Wellbeing Services)
    • Charlotte Young (Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation)

By attending, you will have the opportunity to:

    • Hear directly from students and staff working on accessibility and AI at UQ.
