The first part of the course covers ordinary differential equations while the second part covers multivariable calculus. These topics are fundamental to the engineering and physical sciences.
Teaching tools and techniques

Student-lecturer interaction during lectures via questions, use of workbook, students complete workbook as lecturer completes worked examples. Use of document camera and real-time completion of worked examples (i.e. worked examples are not pre-written but solved along with students during lecture).
Lecturer's biography
Poh received her PhD from The University of Adelaide in the area of Convex Sets with Lattice Point Constraints. More recently, her interests have switched to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning in mathematics.
Poh is always on the lookout for practical ideas to help her first year students learn mathematics. Poh has won 3 UQ teaching awards and a national teaching award.
