Self-regulated learning and learning analytics
About this session
The emergence of sophisticated information and communication technologies initially created possibilities and now increasingly demands for flexible, engaging learning experiences anytime, anywhere. However, these possibilities come with a caveat. Increased flexibility in learning places additional onus on students to direct their own study. Therefore, self-regulated learning (SRL) has become a critical area of development in educational theory and research. The current state of SRL will be discussed with a particular emphasis on SRL in digital learning environments. This discussion will include ways in which data can help to understand and intervene on student SRL.
The Learning Analytics and Digital Learning fortnightly meetup aims to develop a community of practice around learning analytics, evidence-based teaching practice and digital learning.
