About this session

This half-day event brings folk with responsibilities and interests in STEM teaching and learning together to learn about different approaches to teaching, and to share the trials and tribulations of 2021 over morning tea.

Keynote: The quest to empower a generation of (science) graduates ready for the 'real' world: lessons from the BSc Advanced Global Challenges at Monash University by Associate Professor Djuke Veldhuis, Monash University.

Djuke has over a decade of experience designing, implementing and delivering educational programs from the ground up. She leads global education and engagement initiatives for corporations, not-for-profits and government institutions. Djuke currently directs the Global Challenges program, an industry-linked degree program that embeds business, communication, policy and cross-cultural competency into BSc in order to nurture the scientific leaders of tomorrow.

The showcase will also feature home-grown talent. If you’re interested in presenting an active session, please contact Lydia Kavanagh.

Who should attend?

  • Any Faculty of Science staff with teaching responsibilities (academic and professional) or an interest in STEM teaching and learning
  • Any staff from other faculties (academic and professional) who would like to join us – we welcome and encourage cross-disciplinary discussions and collaborations
