Abstract:

Learning analytics provide great potential for understanding and assisting with the development of self-regulated learning. However, turning data-driven insights into practical strategies and tactics is challenging in medium to large courses. In this meetup, I will describe how I have been using Course Insights and the Self-Regulated Learning – Online (SRL-O) instrument in a large (~190 – 250 students) postgraduate course. The aim of the meetup is to demonstrate how the combination of data and an ethic of care leads to small, easy-to-achieve approaches having a substantial impact for students.
