AI and I? Who’s Writing This PhD Thesis?!
About the session
As generative AI transforms research practice, how can HDR candidates use it responsibly, creatively, and critically across the research lifecycle? This interactive 90-minute session explores the principles, practical applications, and limitations of AI in research. We will cover key uses of AI in HDR study, from literature review to data analysis to thesis writing, while also discussing risks around data privacy, intellectual property, academic integrity, and overreliance.
The session includes a panel of UQ HDR candidates and researchers who will share their experiences and perspectives on working with AI in their disciplines. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, share examples, and help shape UQ’s evolving approach to AI in graduate research.
