Professor Kelly Matthews leads strategic teaching and learning priorities through a portfolio of cross-institutional projects. In 2025, these include:
- Lead through Learning—UQ’s AI and Education Action Plan: leads the research stream on student voice and the stream to co-design of the UQ-wide responsible use and AI literacy frameworks
- Teaching-Focused Network, Teaching Associates Network, and Research-Focused in Teaching Network: provides leadership to strengthen academic development, career progression, and recognition across UQ for teaching-oriented academics and research staff interested in teaching
- Sustainability Strategy: represents the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic’s portfolio on the Vice-Chancellor’s Sustainability Committee, with oversight of the teaching and learning pillar
- Good academic governance: University Misconduct Committee chair, Senate Academic Administrative Appeals Committee, and representative of the Academic Board Standing Committee on school reviews and hiring panels
- Career Advancement for Senior Academic Women: leads the redevelopment and implementation of this specialised program to support gender equity in the professoriate
She teaches into the Graduate Certificate in University Teaching Practice and coordinates EDUC6002: Curriculum Design.
