Emily Russell

Emily is a Learning Designer (Assessment Transformation) supporting the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology’s Learning Enhancement Team. Her work focuses on partnering with academics to design authentic, student-centred learning and assessment experiences that maintain academic integrity and respond to the opportunities and challenges of generative AI.
Emily has worked in higher education for over a decade in learning design roles at RMIT University and the Adelaide University. Before moving into learning design, Emily worked as a Learning and Teaching Librarian at King’s College London, where she developed her teaching practice and gained insight into student learning.
She holds a Graduate Certificate in Education (Innovative Learning Design) from QUT, a Graduate Diploma in Library and Information Services, and a Bachelor of Communication. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
