After graduating with a Bachelor of Digital Design in 2005, Tim spent the next 12 years as a freelance graphic designer and videographer while lecturing and tutoring at Griffith University. During his time as a graphic designer, Tim specialised in corporate branding and promotions in the health and beauty, horse racing and retail industries. His videography work focused on small business promotion and live event coverage, with a later focus on documentary filmmaking.

While at Griffith University, Tim taught and convened a range of courses covering graphic design, video editing, motion graphics and industry practice.
