ITaLI offers personalised support services across various areas related to teaching and learning.
You may be considering changing your curriculum, delivery, assessment or just want some help with teaching in general to improve your students’ learning experience. You may also be interested in developing your career or gaining recognition of your teaching capability through applying for a teaching award, evaluating your teaching for confirmation or promotion, or wish to engage in educational research.
We can help. We offer personalised advice and support in the following areas:
Teaching, learning and assessment support
If you need help now
You can also meet with an ITaLI Learning Designer to seek pedagogical advice, have your questions answered or just to bounce around some ideas. Our Learning Designers have each worked with a broad cross-section of academia across the University and are familiar with many teaching, learning and assessment practices.
Support is also available from:
- ITaLI workshops and professional learning activities– in person, online and/or on-demand.
- The Library can deliver tailored training and support for your courses (contact your liaison librarian).
- For faculty/school level support, please refer to the list of learning designers in your area.
- UQ offers a broad range of support services for students.
ITaLI facilitates a range of initiatives that help you connect with peers and receive support from the UQ teaching community.
- Join one of our Communities of Practice and the HEA@UQ community.
- Observe teaching in other UQ courses.
- Engage with your peers through peer observation of teaching.
eLearning systems and tools support
If you need help now
If you are planning to implement a UQ-supported educational system (e.g. Learn.UQ Blackboard) or tool (e.g. Zoom, Kaltura, Turnitin, PadletUQ, etc.), you should book an appointment with our eLearning Advisers who can support you with its configuration and launch.
If you need help with an eLearning system or tool, you can also:

- attend an eLearning workshop
- request a custom workshop for your school or course team
- request technical support.
Teaching career development support
ITaLI can support you in developing your career and achieving recognition for your teaching practice. We can help you with:
- a teaching award/grant application
- a Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship
- the Graduate Teaching Associates (GTA) program
- educational research.
Drop-in sessions
Educational media production
Our Educational Media Production team works closely with academics and learning designers to produce educational videos, audio content, graphics and animations for a wide range of courses across the University. The team’s services are available to all staff across UQ.
The team has a broad skill base, creating a wide variety of media including:
- digital pen recordings
- audio and video podcasts
- studio lectures
- interviews
- lightboard recordings
- location and scripted scenario filming
- animation and graphic design.
Submit an expression of interest
If you have projects that could benefit from video, animation and/or graphic design, you are invited to submit an expression of interest. Once the EOI is reviewed, the team will be in contact to discuss your requirements and arrange a media consult.
