Embedding Responsible Use of AI in Your Course
This session is Part II of a two-part series. It builds on the Responsible use of AI workshop which will explore ethical considerations for using AI. Attendance at both sessions is recommended.
This Embedding responsible use of AI in your course workshop offers a practical approach to embedding responsible AI use in your course, with a focus on ‘open’ (non-secure) assessment tasks. We will start by exploring how to apply ethical considerations to justify how generative AI tools are used in a specific task. Next, we will work through how to develop an example you can share with students to model effective and critical AI use. Finally, we will consider when to use and how to design AI acknowledgements to support student learning.
Note: This session shares one approach to embedding responsible AI use in your course, though there are many valid approaches. Please also consider any school-or program-level guidance on responsible AI use.
