HDR Wellbeing, Engagement and Research Culture (WERC) Project

This project is a collaboration between UQ Higher Degree by Research (HDR) candidates, researchers, the School of Psychology, and the Graduate Research School. Central to the project is the 2026 WERC Survey, which gathered data from a large sample of UQ HDR candidates. The survey examined how research demands, available resources, and the overall academic climate relate to candidates' wellbeing and HDR program engagement. This session will present the survey’s key findings alongside strategic recommendations for research training.
