FAQs – implementing Graduate Attributes
Which program should we start with?
This is up to your Faculty/ School/ program to decide.
For example, the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) decided to start the implementation of the UQ Graduate Attributes from the Bachelor of Arts (BA) since it went through the recent review process.
Which approach ensures that Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) are effectively integrated and assessed?
This is up to your faculty/school/program to decide as there is no prescribed approach or pathway to follow. Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) may be addressed in multiple courses. For example, HASS, for their BA Program, decided to focus on courses which contain learning objectives and assessment that ensure that PLO is taught and assessed within the discipline context.
Are changes required for every course within a program to demonstrate the PLOs?
Some of the PLOs may be already demonstrated in your courses, while others may require some adjustments.
Should PLOs be equally distributed across all courses?
There is no need to have a balance or equal number of PLOs across the courses.
Should all courses be included in the major?
There is no requirement to include all courses in the major. Focus on core courses and consider including key electives if unable to demonstrate that PLOs can be delivered in core courses alone.
