Outcomes

In this course, you'll apply theory to design and implement a teaching enhancement project that matters to you.

Working alongside a community of peers, you'll trial new approaches, evaluate their impact, and refine your strategies based on evidence. Along the way, you'll critically reflect on your growth as an educator and how your learning shapes your professional practice.

By the end of the course, you'll not only have a concrete initiative to show for your efforts - you'll also have developed the confidence, insight, and network to keep transforming your teaching.

What credentials will I receive?

I'm studying the course as professional learning

Once you've completed Teaching in Practice at a Pass level, you're encouraged to enrol in Curriculum Design at UQ (subject to eligibility).

If you successfully complete both Teaching in Practice and Curriculum Design at UQ, you'll be awarded the Professional Certificate in University Teaching Practice and be recognised as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

I'm a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching Practice (GCUTP) student

Teaching in Practice is one of 4 courses that make up the GCUTP. To be awarded the qualification, you must complete all 4 courses at a Pass level.

GCUTP and Recognition of Prior Learning

GCUTP students can apply for a maximum of 4 units of RPL credit, which equates to 2 GCUTP courses.

Teaching Foundations (EDHE6001) is only granted through RPL. If you complete Teaching in Practice (EDHE6003) and Curriculum Design at UQ (EDHE6002) as professional learning and later enrol in the GCUTP, you can apply for RPL for only one of these 2 courses, not both.
